The Butterick Publishing Company was founded in 1863 by Ebenezer Butterick and forever changed the world of sewing by mass producing and distributing the first graded sewing patterns. In 2001 The McCall's Pattern Company acquired both Butterick and Vogue Patterns. Butterick still sells patterns online (2014).
