It contains twenty letters between Sarah, friends, and family, while she was a student at Wheaton Female Seminary, 1843. The collection also contains forty letters between Sally, friends, and family concerning family affairs, 1843 -1850. A color photograph of Sarah A. Jarvis' portrait in included.

One manuscript diary from 1892, written by the wife of a sawmill worker. Diary includes short notes on daily workers' activities and weather. Diary contains all comings and goings of the residence, along with a record of purchases, sales, and employee payments. Writer participated in and donated to her church's aid society. Residence somewhere between Chicago and Champagne, IL.
