This small manuscript collection contains the album "Our Country: Pictures of the Spanish-American War," which covers 21 April 1898 to 12 August 1898. It was created by John W. Hanes. Clippings include photographs of soldiers, buildings, and scenes related to the war as well as articles.

Some clippings have manuscript annotations pertaining to the 6th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment, including a few images of crowds with people identified. John Haines, apparent compiler of this scrapbook, was nephew to Waltham's Frank A. Haines, of Company I, Sixth Massachusetts. )
