Biographical note

Ann Elizabeth Elz received her MA in English from Iowa State University in 1993, with a thesis entitled "A Coming Together of Hands." Elz and her husband Henry Eric Howe moved to Texas in 1997, where she earned a PhD. (2001) and a J.D. (2006) at Baylor University. Since 1999, they have lived in Georgetown, TX, and are parents to a girl. After law school, Elz worked in oil and gas law writing opinions covering land in Texas and North Dakota, and now, is a realtor.
