Biography

Jonathan Shaw (1731/2-1796) of Raynham, MA, married (1) Sarah Richardson of Norton, 30 Jan. 1762; (2) Lydia Godfrey of Taunton, 2 May 1782. His first wife Sarah was the daughter of Francis and Sarah Richardson of Norton, who were "admitted to full communion" the Norton church in 1742. Francis Richardson supplied the pulpit one Sunday in 1835, in the absence of a regular minister. Jonathan Shaw rose through the ranks of the 3rd Regiment of the Bristol County Militia, ending as Lt.
